Insight Global Employees Serve 990 Patients in Uganda Outreach Clinics in First Service Trip of the Year

Press Release from Insight Global

This month, 21 Insight Global employees traveled to Uganda for a week-long service trip in partnership with OneWorld Health, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing quality, sustainable healthcare solutions to underserved communities around the globe.

Insight Global started its partnership with OneWorld Health in 2020, and has since funded the opening of seven medical “Grit” clinics stretching from Central America to East Africa.189 Insight Global employees have attended services trips with OneWorld Health throughout the company’s partnership. Employees are selected to become volunteers by a committee based on written essays on why they feel called to bring impact to these communities. OneWorld Health is one of eight national philanthropy partners that aligns with Insight Global’s mission to “be the light” to the world.

“Participating in a OneWorld Health trip is a profoundly humbling experience that broadens your awareness of global community needs and access to basic healthcare,” said Insight Global employee Carlie Couch. “It has instilled a deep sense of gratitude and commitment to prioritize service in my life.”

During their week-long experience, employees assisted professional OneWorld Health medical teams at several outreach clinics throughout Uganda—including locations set up in Masindi and Bweyale. Employees supported the medical staff with duties such as checking in patients, organizing intake stations, providing childcare, and overall clinic operations.

“While our work there is impactful and lifechanging for some, the people we serve give back to us tenfold without even trying,” said Account Manger Megan Beigl. “Ugandans are the most resilient and the gritty people I know. Their community, faith, and gratitude are unlike anything I’ve ever seen.”

Through the partnership to date, 127,616 patients have been served through employee service trips, and by 2025 the Insight Global funded hospitals will serve over 2.5 million people and create more than 2,000 jobs in Honduras, Nicaragua and Uganda.

“It brings me joy in how hungry our people are to be the light for others and that we are able to offer a unique experience to give back in such an intentional way,” said Hannah Jenkins, Social Impact Coordinator. “Our partnership with OWH truly allows us to impact the WORLD around us.”

Five more service trips are planned this year to Uganda and Honduras. Insight Global encourages employees to take up to five paid days per year outside of PTO to be of service to others, whether in their own community or halfway across the world.
